Project Manager
Florian Wittmann studied political science and economics with a focus on transformation processes in the Central and Eastern European Countries at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, the Jagiellonian University in Cracow and the University of Regensburg. After having worked as a research assistant at the Geschwister-Scholl Institute of Political Science at the LMU Munich, he started his PhD at the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS), with research stays at the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest and the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. In his doctoral thesis (2015-2019, passed with distinction) he investigated the implementation and allocation outcomes of EU Cohesion Policy in Polish and Italian regions from a comparative perspective, paying particular attention to the importance of multilevel structures. Since July 2019 he is employed as a senior research and project manager at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI.
