The Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI and the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR) organize a joint seminar series at irregular intervals. On January 21, 2021, Patricia Laurens, Antoine Schoen and Philippe Larédo will give the lecture “The role of large multinational firms (LMF) in the knowledge dynamics of Metropolitan Areas“.

On March 16, 2021 Prof. Dr. Bernd Ebersberger will be a virtual guest at Fraunhofer ISI. The lecture “Innovation and the covid crisis“ will start at 16:00.

This is the first out of two conferences on the (societal) impact of science. In order to be able to measure and evaluate it, even on a systemic level, new theoretical and empirical approaches have to be developed. The conference aims to discuss the most recent national and international conceptual as well as empirical state of affairs and to draw conclusions for the BMBF's further handling of the topic how the impact of science can be reasonably understood, measured and evaluated.

The Morgenstadt Network invites on September 30 and October 1, 2021 to the bilingual digital conference “Wasser in der Morgenstadt | Water in the City of the Future”. The Fraunhofer Institutes ISI, IAO and IGB present good and best practices with an international orientation and identify opportunities for cooperation.

The International Sustainability Transitions Conference 2021 will take place in Karlsruhe from 5 to 8 October 2021. It will cover the theme “Mainstreaming sustainability transitions: from research towards impact“.

On October 25, 2021 Dr. Giulio Mattioli will be a virtual guest at Fraunhofer ISI. The lecture “Behavioural carbon lock-in in long-distance transport: interim findings from the LDS project“ will start at 14:00.
