The project aims to drive the energy transition by empowering companies in the dairy sector's value chain to embrace sustainable practices and leverage the potential of value chains. To achieve this, the project will introduce capacity-building programs and tools to guide companies in making energy-saving decisions, adopting renewable energies, and investing in heat pumps. Specifically, the project focuses on three main pillars:
- Establishing a capacity-building program and a dedicated community to support the transformation of organizational energy cultures. This involves enhancing the skills, knowledge, awareness, and know-how of employees regarding the role of sustainable value chains in both small and large companies.
- Implementing customized and user-friendly tools that engage companies operating within the same value chain. These tools are to support the adoption of energy-efficient measures and sustainable practices, considering aspects such as multiple benefits and collaboration between large and small companies.
- Providing policy and regulatory recommendations aimed at expediting the energy transition in the dairy sector.
The tasks of Fraunhofer ISI in the project team focus on conducting initial analyses of requirements, challenges, and capabilities of the targeted companies.
