Deputy Head of Crowd Innovation Unit
Jens Rockel holds a degree in economics and has been working for Fraunhofer since 2009, initially for the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy IMW in Leipzig. Since January 2012, he has supported the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Department as a researcher and is also Deputy Head of the Crowd Innovation Unit. He previously studied economics at Leipzig University, specializing in finance and banking, and graduated in 2011. In addition to his academic and practice-oriented work in this field, he was also responsible for coordinating the research project “Crowdfunding and credit financing: A sustainable co-financing model?” at Fraunhofer IMW, the aim of which was to investigate the potential, institutional framework conditions and specific co-financing concepts for the use of crowdfunding in the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. He is currently involved in the “TransferFinanz” innovation project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, which is developing and testing new methods and instruments for the participatory financing of research results and technologies in non-university research institutions. As a trained banker and through his work at Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen (TGFS), Jens Rockel can also look back on several years of professional experience in the field of financing innovations and evaluating innovation strategies.
