Cecilia Garcia Chavez is a PhD candidate in the Fraunhofer ISI doctoral programme since November 2021. She holds a Master of Science in Economics and Institutions from the Philipps Universität of Marburg. For her master thesis titled "Do Political Budget Cycles Persist in Madrid’s Municipalities? Re-election Uncertainty Matters" she received the MACIE award of the Marburg Centre for Institutional Economics. In 2016, she obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration with an Economics specialisation from the University of Texas at El Paso. Cecilia's current research focuses on analysing the organisation, economics and the policy of science. In the Competence Center Innovation and Knowledge Economy she works in projects related to the governance of science, science-industry collaboration as well as the political support for innovation system development.
