Regional Development Strategy TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe 2030

In December 2017, TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe GmbH, the Supervisory Board and the shareholders launched a process to develop the Regional Development Strategy TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe 2030.

The regional development strategy TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe 2030 is now available and forms the framework for a forward-looking, goal-oriented and at the same time efficient cooperation between TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe GmbH, its shareholders and partners. The strategy brochure illustrates the process of strategy development and its main results. The vision and the roadmap with the selected goals and measures show that social cohesion and the way of life are as relevant for regional development as the focus areas of mobility, digitisation and energy.

Task

With the aim of strengthening the region as an economic, scientific, innovation and technology region, a four-stage approach was chosen:

1. the joint development of the desirable future vision for the Karlsruhe Technology Region,

2. the derivation of the strategic goals and a corresponding roadmap,

3. the specification of a development plan for the TechnologyRegion Karlsruhe with an integrated monitoring system

4. a successful integration of all shareholder groups in the TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe GmbH for the further strategic development of the region.

The implementation was methodically supported by the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI, which designed and provided scientific support for the process.
