Do I really have to share my research data? No, but… requirements on research data by the European Commission and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft
On July 11, 2022, Inmaculada Aleixos Borrás will give a talk on the topic "Do I really have to share my research data? No, but… requirements on research data by the European Commission and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft". The presentation will start at 13:00.
Abstract
In her talk, our guest researcher at Fraunhofer ISI (Competence Center Policy and Soctiety) Inmaculada Aleixos Borrás, PhD, will expound both the current requirements and recommendations on research data established by the European Commission (Horizon Europe) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.
The main goal of her talk is to clarify some often-misused concepts such as, for instance, Open Data, FAIR data, data management plans, data sharing, and (non) certified trustworthy repositories. She will also discuss the most common challenges that researchers face when trying to comply with these requirements.

"I have always straddled two roles, the scientist and the practitioner. The latter has provided me with empirical evidence in how scientists and research performing institutions deal and struggle with research data issues. As per my research, I cast doubt on and challenge the idealized technological solutionism in which science has succumbed with regard to research data."
