In a panel contribution at the 28th Scientific Congress of the German Political Science Association GPSA from the 14th to 16th September 2021, Fraunhofer ISI presented results of a municipal survey. The presented study examined the strategic implementation of climate change mitigation and adaptation in German municipalities and explored the question of why some cities are more active than others.
The broad survey of 554 German municipalities on municipal climate action was conducted in the summer of 2020 as part of the project NostaClimate. The focus of the survey is on the climate action of municipalities, the motives and strategies for their activities and their interaction with state actors.
