Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISIFraunhofer ISI is an active institutional member of the German-language network TA (NTA) and supports the specialist portal OpenTA in this context. In 2018, it hosted the eighth international NTA conference (NTA8) in Karlsruhe. The institute is also a member of the European Technology Assessment Group (ETAG), within which it conducts research for the European Parliament (Science and Technology Options Assessment − STOA). It is also involved in global networks, for instance through its membership in the Virtual Institute for Responsible Innovation (VIRI), in the global Technology Assessment Network (globalTA), or by participating in consultations of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development.
