Dr. Meike Walli-Schiek

Team leader of the scientific advisors to the director of the institute

Dr. Meike Walli-Schiek studied Geography and French at the Ruhr Universität-Bochum (RUB) and the Université du Littoral – Côte d'Opal in Dunkerque, France. On completion of her Master's degree in Urban and Regional Development Management in 2011 she wrote her doctoral thesis on Corporate Regional Responsibility at the Institute of Geography of the RUB. Meike Walli-Schiek was a research associate since 2009, from 2009 to 2011 at the Department of Cultural and Settlement Geography and from 2011 to 2015 in the Working Group Urban and Regional Economy. From May 2016 to December 2017 she was the manager of the head office of the corporate initiative Zukunft durch Industrie e.V. in Düsseldorf.

Meike Walli-Schiek has been working at Fraunhofer ISI since 2018, first as a research associate to the institute director and as a team leader since 2025. She contributes her expertise to the key topics of innovation, digitalization, AI, sustainability and future research. Her aim is to link these topics and to anchor them in society.
