Deputy Head of Innovation Acceptance Unit
Henrik Beermann is Deputy Head of the Innovation Acceptance Unit, initially for the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy IMW in Leipzig. Since January 1, 2025, the unit has been part of Fraunhofer ISI in Leipzig. He researches and coordinates international knowledge transfer projects with a focus on natural resources and sustainable urban development. He works in projects that analyze social systems, apply knowledge to local and regional contexts and integrate classical bottom-up and top-down perspectives. Before joining the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, he worked for an international business school, focusing on sustainable development and entrepreneurship promotion. Prior to that, he worked for an international NGO in Southeast Asia.
Henrik Beermann is a graduate of the International Joint Master of Sustainable Development at the Leipzig University, is currently working on his doctorate at the Leipzig University and the University of Venice and studied in Leipzig and Stellenbosch.
