Head of Innovation Policy and Transfer Design Unit
Dr. Anna Wachsmuth-Pohle has been working for Fraunhofer since November 2015, initially for the Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy IMW in Leipzig. Since July 2021, she has headed the Innovation Policy and Transfer Design Unit, which has been part of Fraunhofer ISI in Leipzig since January 1, 2025. In this role, she leads an interdisciplinary team and projects that explore and improve the organizational and individual foundations for knowledge and technology transfer in organizations. Her research is the basis for the development of transfer concepts, the preparation of market and environment analyses as well as the design of innovation policy instruments to strengthen the utilization of research results.
During her time at Fraunhofer IMW, she was funded by the Fraunhofer TALENTAstart program from 2015 to 2017. She also headed the Fraunhofer Science Colloquium in Leipzig together with Dr. Juliane Welz and Dr. Christine Richter.
She is also a doctoral candidate at the Chair of Innovation Economics of Prof. Dr. Knut Blind at TU Berlin. In her doctoral thesis “A behavioral perspective on the commercialization of knowledge and technologies from research to industry”, she examines the tension between the behavioral economic and institutional framework conditions for knowledge and technology transfer. Before joining Fraunhofer, she completed her Master's degree in Business Administration at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in 2015.
