Frederik graduated at a master’s level in business economics with intercultural qualification in French from the University of Mannheim, Germany (Diplom-Kaufmann), and a double degree from ESSEC Business School Paris, France (ESSEC MBA), in 2008. By analyzing interorganizational networks through an organizational lens, he terminated his doctorate in 2013 with the title: Innovation and Coordination of Interorganizational Networks. During his doctorate studies he worked as a research assistant at the Department of Entrepreneurship and the Institute for SME Research (ifm) of the University of Mannheim, Germany, with a guest-researcher stay at Stanford University, USA. Afterwards, he joined Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum Stuttgart, Germany, in the domains of technology transfer, cluster consulting, and commercial exploitation of innovations in European Smart-City projects (2014–2017). After this experience, he consulted enterprise-founding and start-up projects at the Heilbronn Bildungscampus, Germany (2017–2019). Finally, he was an Agile Scrum Product Owner, Business Process Manager, and Innovation Manager at a privately held software-development company (2020–2023). Since March 2023, he is a researcher in the Business Unit Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI.
