Julia K. Beyersdorf is a business engineer and PhD candidate at the Emerging Technologies department of the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI.
In 2016, she completed an Engineering Master degree at AAU Copenhagen with a focus on systems and product innovation, sustainable transition, stakeholder involvement, and technology transfer. As research intern at the Ecological Economy Institute (IÖW) in Berlin and the Süddeutsches Kunststoffzentrum (SKZ) she gathered additional experience in ecological economy research and material development, respectively. Activities of the latter work placement revolved around further development of a self-invented, biodegradable fiber composite and lightweight construction methods.
In 2017, she joined Fraunhofer ISI. Her work is concerned with the market and sustainability aspects of emerging technologies. This involves enabling research-industry interfaces in the fields of nanomaterials, as well as assessing the (sustainable) innovation potential of technologies and related value chains.
