Preparing a scientific study on the impacts of public funding of science and research in Baden-Württemberg on the economic development of the state
The project investigates the impacts of publicly funded research on the economy in Baden-Württemberg. These impacts are:
- the effects which emanate from research facilities on economic growth and regional development
- the contribution universities make to qualification and academic training of the population
- the impulses which emanate from the science system on the development of technology and the diffusion of technologies in the economy. On the one hand in the context of innovation activities of the private sector of the economy, on the other by developing new opportunities which are reflected in patents and finally,
- the effects on the business population which are generated by spin off companies from academic institutions.
