Bastian Weißenburger studied Energy Engineering at the RWTH Aachen with a focus on modeling, optimization and analysis of renewable energy systems. As part of his master thesis in 2021 at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems he worked on the modeling and optimization of the hydrogen and gas infrastructure within their energy system model REMod.
Since March 2022 he is working as a research associate and PhD candidate in the Competence Center Energy Technologies and Energy Systems in the Business Unit Energy Economics and is primarily concerned with the integration of hydrogen in energy systems and energy system modeling.
