Dr. Pia Manz

Researcher

Pia Manz has been working as a research associate at the Department of  Energy Technologies and Energy Systems at Fraunhofer ISI since 2017. Her research focuses on analyzing transformation pathways for buildings and industry, particularly the regional analysis of district heating supply and excess heat potentials. She works on GIS-based modeling of demand sectors as well as the analysis of instruments and policy measures.

 

Pia Manz studied Renewable Energy Technology and Systems Engineering at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, including a semester abroad at the University of Dundee, Scotland. During her studies, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Renewable Energy Technology at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. In 2024, she obtained her PhD at Utrecht University on the topic “Towards climate-neutral district heating in the EU”.
