Şirin Alibaş MSc.

Şirin Alibaş has been working as a research associate in the Business Unit Demand Analyses and Projections of the Competence Center Energy Technologies and Energy Systems at Fraunhofer ISI since 2020. Her research focuses on modeling and analysis of the building sector regarding the energy demand and the energy carrier mix, the CO2 emissions, and the investment and resource requirements, considering the renovation activities and the applicability of heating technologies as well as the influence of political measures. She completed her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul in 2017 and her master’s degree in Sustainable Systems Engineering at the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg in 2020. She wrote her master's thesis on “Simulation of PVT collectors as a heat source for heat pumps in multi-family houses” as part of the PVTSolutions and Smart Quarter Durlach projects at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE.
