Energy supply models

Fraunhofer ISI uses the Enertile model to analyse the energy supply. The model analyses investments and the use of power plants in the electricity sector, the heat grids and other central technologies of sector coupling with a focus on the linear optimisation method. The model is characterised by a very high spatial and temporal resolution, which allows a detailed mapping of renewable energies in particular.
