Researcher
He studied mathematics with a specialization in mathematical physics at the University of Bonn. From 2006 to 2010 he was a research associate at the University of Tübingen, where he acquired his ph.d. in 2010 (supervisor Prof. Dr. Stefan Teufel). From 2010 to 2014 he was a post-doctoral researcher at the Center for Sustainability Research at University of Bremen. From 2014 to 2015 he was the managing director of the Smart Grids-Platform Baden-Wuerttemberg.
Since May 2015 he is a senior researcher and since September 2024 Coordinator of the Business Unit Renewable Energies at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI in the Competence Center Energy Policy and Energy Markets.
His work focus is:
- evaluation of targets and instruments in climate policy
- design of support schemes, in particular the EU Innovation Fund
- analysis and design of energy system scenarios and transformation pathways
- hydrogen market uptake and transformation of gas infrastructures
