Degree in Geoecology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Diploma thesis on Arsenic contamination in rural areas of the Red River Delta in Vietnam with focus on geochemical and socio-economic parameters in risk assessment and planning of mitigation measures. Experience in fields of environmental analytics, social- and environmental impact assessment, planning, execution and evaluation of expert interviews and stakeholder workshops and policy analysis. Research assistant at the KIT from 2004 to 2010. Study visits and internships in several developing countries between 2002 and 2008. From May 2010 to December 2011 research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI, since January 2012 in the Competence Center Energy Policy and Energy Markets. Coordination and participation in numerous international research projects, such as “Combined Renewable Energy Masterplan CREMP for Egypt”, “Desert Power 2050 – Perspectives on a Sustainable Power System for EUMENA”, “Local Manufacturing Assessment for CSP Projects in MENA”, “Development of regional and Pan-European guidelines for more efficient integration of renewable energy into future infrastructure – SUSPLAN”.

Doctoral degree awarded by the College of Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Exeter (UK) for the thesis “Determinants for the market diffusion of renewable energy technologies - An analysis of the framework conditions for non-residential photovoltaic and onshore wind energy deployment in Germany, Spain and the UK“ (2017).

Since March 2019, Inga Boie is Coordinator of Business Unit Global Sustainable Energy Transitions.
